Ultrasound of the pelvis, commonly known as USG Pelvis, is a non-invasive imaging procedure used to examine the organs within the pelvic region. It plays a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring conditions related to the female reproductive system, including the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and surrounding structures. This test uses sound waves to create real-time images, making it safe, painless, and radiation-free.

USG pelvis is commonly recommended for evaluating symptoms such as pelvic pain, irregular menstrual cycles, abnormal bleeding, or suspected infections. It is also widely used in fertility assessments and to monitor ovarian follicles, uterine health, and early pregnancy. The procedure can be performed in two ways: transabdominal (over the abdomen) and transvaginal (internal), depending on the clinical requirement.
